What is the DCTA?

Durango Community Tennis Association

The Durango Community Tennis Association (DCTA) was formed in 1999 as a non-profit 501c3 corporation with an elected board of directors. The mission of the DCTA is to foster a vibrant tennis community and atmosphere to its members and tennis enthusiasts of all ages.

The DCTA advocates for facilities and resources, as well as connecting tennis players and providing opportunities for play for all ages. The DCTA has a strong history of fulfilling its mission, such as assisting the City of Durango/La Plata County/9-R School District in combining resources to rebuild ten existing tennis courts and construct six new courts since 2002, including the four lighted courts at Fort Lewis College. The DCTA helps sponsor and organize court cleaning, maintenance, and equipment repair – such as nets and windscreens. The DCTA also organizes several drop in groups, ladders, tournaments and social events to encourage social and competitive play. Members of the DCTA also have access to a directory that helps connect players of similar levels.

Donations are Needed and Appreciated

If you would like to support DCTA with fundraising, it would be greatly appreciated. We always have expenses for nets, windscreens, benches, cleaning equipment, portable toilet, resurfacing, etc. Of course, an automatic membership will be included for donations at $25 and above. Thank you for your generosity!

Let us hear from you. We are always happy to hear from local tennis players, DCTA members as well as others, about “anything tennis” for Durango. Email durangotennis@gmail.com
